Our Bios

Jim Potts, Lead:
Jim has spent all of his life singing, beginning with children’s choirs and most recently with barbershop choruses and quartets as a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

While with one particular chorus (The New Tradition, in Northbrook, Illinois) he won eight silver medals, three bronze medals and one gold. One of his quartets also won silver at the international level. He is currently singing tenor in the 1st United Methodist Church choir in Homosassa, Florida.

Joy Potts, Tenor:
Jim’s wife, is an accomplished song writer and published composer of sacred songs. She is also the organist and pianist at 1st United Methodist Church in Homosassa, Florida.

She began singing tenor with the quartet as a “fill-in” when the male tenor moved back to Alabama. She has assumed full ownership of that spot and has become our “permanent” temporary tenor.

Ernie Dorrell, Bass:
Ernie is a retired Methodist minister and Tuned To Revival’s Chaplain. He has sung since his early school days. He was involved with many singing groups throughout his life to include gospel quartets while in college.

He has also done extensive solo work and was a long-time member of the Barbershop Harmony Society where he sang with both choruses and quartets.

Ron Hesketh, Baritone:
A computer hardware specialist and trainer in his business life, he has also been singing since his early years. His solo career began as a senior in high school and he has sung in numerous church choirs and men’s groups both in the Army and in private life.

He is also a Barbershop Harmony Society singer and is currently active in a second barbershop style quartet called “Sunshine Sound”.
